Yarn Assignments – Turquoise Red Heart Classic

Turquoise Red Heart Classic

After a battle with moths laid my old yarn collection to waste (tragically and with lots of tears). I vowed that I wouldn’t allow my yarn to exceed one large plastic bin.

About a year later, it’s threatening to overflow again, so my new rule is that I have to assign all yarn a project and I’m only allowed to buy yarn if I need it to get something out of the bin and into my closet. This is the first yarn that’s getting an assignment, and as luck would have it, it’s on the lower end of my stash spectrum. I believe it was bought for a stuffed animal that didn’t work out.

now I have 190ish yards of turquoise red heart classic. I’m not what I would call a super yarn snob, but this is not exactly sweater worthy yarn. So what to do with it? I delved through my Ravelry queue (1311 patterns long, what is wrong with this picture?!?!?) and I decided that this yarn deserves to become

Crochet Slippers from Interweave!
Ravelry Link

The pattern is $5 on the Interweave store, and it looks like it would be great for gifts. It supposedly uses about 300 yards  of yarn so I’ll have to either buy another skein or pair it up with another stash yarn. Maybe I’ll get two skeins of acrylic out of the way. Kill two  skeins with one stone if you will.
